  CEO's Message

Emirati women have played a commendable role in the evolution and growth of the country’s economy.  Historically, even as they attended to household duties, women in the region have contributed to societal growth, supporting their male counterparts in strengthening the cultural and economic fabric.

Today, in a fast-paced economic environment, it is important that the role of women in promoting nation-building must be redefined to ensure they have stronger participatory role, while also providing them a sound platform for personal and professional development.

From accepted professional roles – such as teachers and administration – women in the UAE have broken the mould and serve as an inspiration for their counterparts across the world. Today, they mark their presence felt in professions as varied as aviation, medicine, information technology, media, property development, marketing and space technology, among others.

However, balancing the two roles – those of home-maker and at the workplace – continues to be a challenge that Emirati women have to address. They also face unique concerns, especially at the workplace- in terms of career opportunities as well as on-job development.

Dubai Women’s Establishment, established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President & Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai and operating under the guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment, and wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Presidential Affairs, aims to address these pressing challenges faced by women in the region.

Our aim is to increase women’s participation, retention, and representation across key economic and social spheres; through DWE’s strategic framework which defines the needs of the key target segments that the organization will address.
