Dubai Women Establishment concludes the “ShEntrepreneur” programme in cooperation with Hult Ashridge International Business School

Dubai, September 22, 2023: Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council and President of Dubai Women Establishment, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) concluded the ‘ShEntrepreneur’ programme, which was organized at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai from September 18 to 21, 2023, in collaboration with Hult Ashridge International Business School.

‘ShEntrepreneur’ is organised within the framework of the Dubai Women Establishment’s strategy to support Emirati female entrepreneurs by providing them with the necessary skills to build a solid business strategy, understand how to develop projects, enhance their financial literacy, and integrate an effective marketing plan. It included opportunities for participants to derive entrepreneurial knowledge from experts and business leaders enabling them to navigate complex decisions and ambiguous environments with confidence.

Hult Ashridge International Business School, based in the United Kingdom, is one of the most prestigious international business schools in business and professional development. The programme has been designed specifically to encourage, enable and empower female entrepreneurs in the UAE by providing them with the core knowledge, inspiration and support they need to create and sustain successful entrepreneurial ventures. The programme will enable the participant’s personal growth by expanding their mindset and developing interpersonal skills and behaviours, and their ability to challenge and shape culture.

Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Women Establishment and Managing Director, said that this innovative program is aligned with the Establishment’s various initiatives to support entrepreneurship and achieve the goals of the National Agenda for Entrepreneurship, which aspires for the UAE to become the entrepreneurial nation by 2031.

Her Excellency highlighted Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s intensive efforts and visionary leadership qualifies and empowers women to exercise their vital roles in the economic and social development of the UAE,  and to achieve their economic independence and family stability through different initiatives and programmes developed by Dubai Women Establishment.

Her Excellency Mona Al Marri affirmed that the ‘ShEntrepreneur’ programme is a stepping stone for Emirati participants on their entrepreneurial journey. The programme provides them with the core knowledge and professional support they need to create and sustain successful entrepreneurial ventures enabling them to thrive and contribute to building the future of the UAE and the world. Her Excellency noted the importance of the beneficial initiatives provided by the UAE in various business sectors, as they provide an excellent opportunity to support and qualify ambitious Emirati’s to succeed, she added: “The UAE’s socio-economic environment provides Emirati women with opportunities to hone their brilliant minds, enhance their capabilities, embrace their potential and contribute to this vital sector.”

Programme agenda

‘ShEntrepreneur’ covers a variety of topics, including building personal resilience, influencing leadership styles and coaching skills, and understanding finance, and marketing essentials. Over the course of the four days, the participants will be able to be impactful in their unique way through practical, tools and techniques developed through coaching and insightful expert feedback. They will explore the importance of coaching and the key skills associated with coaching and be able to analyse profits, cash flow statements and reports.

Additionally, Participants will be able to create a successful marketing strategy and use marketing techniques to effectively curate advertising, email marketing, newsletters, e-newsletters, corporate brochures, websites, blogs and viral marketing.

The final day of the programme included a panel discussion involving five panellists: Dr Kate Barker, Global Consulting Leader, Kelly Hodgkin, Company Director and Brand Ambassador, Nancy Assaad, Founder and CEO of The Marketing Boutique, Rosheen Ngorima, Founder of Neeps Accounting and Business Management Consulting, and Thelma Chimbganda, Co-Founder and CEO of Beyond Borders Logistics and TSOKATM International. During the panel session the successful female entrepreneurs shared valuable professional advice and addressed the many facets involved in running a business.
